Members of West Philadelphia Orchestra and Rhinoceri Trio have come together to arrange and rework an array of Bulgarian, Turkish, and Ethiopian music for your listening pleasure. Along with some original compositions and songs from other far-away destinations, CZ101’s repertoire is energetic and wild, yet at times hypnotic and simple. We strive to bridge the off-kilter and the danceable,the lyrical and the melismatic.

Folk guitarist and songwriter from the Philly ‘burbs. Recently completed second album , Slipping Shadows follows his 2015 debut, Old Screwball and the Other Excursions. Evan’s music is heavily influenced by folk and progressive sounds with a jazz rhythm.

JOHN VANORE & Abstract Truth

John Vanore presents this uniquely instrumented large ensemble where the soloist is prominent, if not dominant. The ensemble draws on the traditions of the big band, but neither limited by nor imitating it.
The instrumentation creates a palette of color shared by none! Essentially structured as a jazz group plus! …4 trumpets, 2 trombones, and 2 French horns, 2 saxophones… provide additional color doubling on flutes and bass clarinet.
Orchestration takes on a character that goes from intimacy of a small group to the full explosive power of a big band.
