Little Women at Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion
Enjoy the Victorian Theatre Production of Little Women
Friday, May 6 & Saturday, May 7 – 7pm
Sunday, May 8 – performances at 2:00 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.
As part of the Mansion’s continued devotion to women’s history, Little Women, one of America’s most beloved Victorian novels, will come to life in the Mansion’s circa 1860’s parlor. Little Women, first published in 1868, tells the story of four sisters becoming women. The story is based on Alcott’s own family.
Louisa May Alcott was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia in 1832 and lived there until her family moved to Concord, Massachusetts in 1840. Alcott was an abolitionist and a feminist. Little Women opens a window into the idealized Victorian image of family life. However, Jo March, modeled after Alcott herself, is independent and willing to speak her own mind.
A champagne reception is included with the ticket price.
Reservations are required.
