iMPeRFeCT Gallery is gearing up for the opening of the new exhibit by NY based photographer Marilyn Kiss, join us for the reception or anytime in March, come see what Marilyn does when she’s armed with her iPhone.
THe GReaT GLaSS eLeVaToR will feature illustrations by Lucy Bell Jarka-Sellers from her book Meet John Dough, Superhero, a fable for the Trump era, along with cartoons inspired by classical literature and a sampling of snakes facing everyday problems.
And wait til you see the color marker drawings that self taught artist and dancer DISCO is bringing to THe ReDRooM. Our friend Merrit brought him to the gallery a week ago…Boom!

“These ‘Abstractions and Absences’ are things that draw my attention in certain moments: digital break-up during a TV show, reflections on glossy surfaces, paint splatters in unusual places, and visual environments devoid of people. When something catches my eye, I bring out my iPhone.”
Lucy Bell Jarka-Sellers
“After a lot of time expressing my ideas in the form of essays and lectures in an academic context, I’ve found that I can say what I want to say best by representing the points of view of made-up characters (human, animal, and other), both in writing and in pictures. I can invite my characters to speak, expose them, sometimes admire them, in any case sympathize with them. I can treat them lovingly. I find this activity so satisfying, that all I want is time to keep doing it and a chance to get better at it. “
