Introduction to Quilting at RittenhouseTown
March 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$45
This workshop will be led by textile artist Ruth Konrad who has been sewing since the tender age of 9, and quilting not long after. She enjoys sharing this love of textiles and handwork with those who are intrigued but hesitant to begin quilting on their own. In class we will explore the various types of quilting and cover equipment, fabric preparation and treatment. Participants will hand-piece a quilt square called ‘nine patch’ and begin hand-quilting the square. The square (finished at home) makes a great pot holder or wall decoration! Fabric, batting and thread will be supplied.
