Enjoy the concert: Old Turtle is an enchanting fable for children and adults by Douglas Wood that promotes a deeper understanding of the earth and our relationship with all the beings who inhabit it. In 1993 the book was selected by the American Booksellers Association as Book of the Year. Composer Joseph Martin set the words to music for choir, narrator and orchestra. Our own Ashley Izard, who won the Barrymore Award this past year for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will be our stirring narrator. Orchestral parts will be taken by Tara Webb Duey and Music Director Mark Daugherty.
